Beautiful! I love it. Sometimes I wish I could work with paint but I have two cats. That should explain that and I do love to draw. It just makes me appreciate excellent painters all the more. Love the scene and colors.
You're welcome and thank you. I do wish often that I could retire from work and draw like crazy but I'm not there yet. Soon though. I have just a small house with two cats who run the place. You should have seen it when I got my drawing table out after 9 years. They now only jump on it occasionally.
The shadows of the trees, the faded color of the buildings in the background, the detail of the elements in the table, all complements for an excellent job. mainly my greatest pleasure was that detail degrade color depth with the buildings in the background. this remains an element that I am still struggling.
It's a long story. First a couple of months I was frantic to finish the final part of my book. Paggino leave almost every side, spit the "cityville." Then I had no chance to get jobs because my scanner broke down. Then to make things a little happy I was busy working on videos to my Youtube channel. But I'm back here. highest priority and I am preparing artwork ready to start the campaign here in Mexico. Certainly now I have been worried about my all my friends there in the U.S. its critical economic situation. And I thought there were rats here than just managing the government and idiots. We grinded the poor by the stupidity of Republicans and conservatives in both countries.
Glad to see you back! Our problem in the U.S. is Obama and his democrates! The democratic party is not like it used to be. We are still looking for the best republican to run that will fix our problems.
Thanks a lot for the link, it's a beautiful composition in a lively art street. Is it the spring ? The light and trees reming me this period. You made a good job with the perspective and how the skyscrapers disappear in the haze is great... I've painted a similar street in NYC in 1995...it was a gouache on paper ---> [link] You will see how my painting style changed....
Well, I am not a premium member and cannot give a "critique" per say. But I'll try.
I like the techniques used throughout the piece. Especially the ground, its shadows are believable and convincing. I also like the choice of having that figure wear orange because they are much more striking that way. All in all this is a nice scene. And I like the idea of being inspired by the area outside the MET.
